December News / Dj gigs

EL DIABLO’S SOCIAL CLUB - SATURDAY 5th DECEMBER

DANNIELLE MOORE (CRAZY P )
NEIL SCOTT / DANNY WEBB

THE DEAF INSTITUTE, MCR
10PM TILL LATE
£5 Advance / More on the door

The weather is wack and it's the most expensive time of the year. The streets are awash with whoppers in suits trying to lambada with Policewomen and WAGS from Rochdale dressed as "sexy Santas", tucking into doner meat. Yes, it's nearly Christmas. But it's not all bad, actually some of it is ACE. Especially the El Diablo's Social Club Christmas Do. It's cheap and it's perhaps even cheerful. Residents Neil Scott, Danny Webb and our favourite sexual chanteuse Miss Danielle Moore from Crazy P, will be emptying their yuletide sack of disco, house and cosmic presents onto the floor all night. So quit Grinching Christmas and get down for an evening of thrills, spills and jelly cakes at the EDSC office party.

Todd Terje
It’s that time of year again.
A time for giving, a time for getting,
A time for forgiving and for forgetting.
Christmas is love, christmas is peace,
A time for hating and fighting to cease.
But way more important than that, is it’s time for Party Central once again. This year, we’ve asked back one of our most triumphant past guests ever, TODD TERJE. In the year that the cosmic disco and balearic sounds became de rigeur around the nation and further beyond, we think it’s only right to celebrate with a man who has done more than anyone to perpetuate the scene as it stands today, via his productions, mixes and edits. Particularly this year do to his enormous remix of Sh1t Robot which has been caned by pretty much everyone across the DJ spectrum this year. Unafraid to take a risk or aquaplane across the genres, the perfect DJ for the biggest party of year. His Eurodans production and edit of Like An Eagle have been Diablos peak time and end of night anthems respectively since we started this thing 6 years ago, and for that alone, we owe him one fierce partay. Buckle up for one hell of a rollercoaster ride.

Chips
Long standing clubnight and fellow deaf institioners Chips (with everything) bring their very own party spirits for the occasion in the bar.

Detroit Public Radio
Steering the ship in the basement we are bringing back by popular demand Detroit Public Radio.

This team of outstanding citizens have been creating mayhem and quite a stir around the Manchester meaning it scene for a couple of years now. With their unique approach to partying that's like cavemen with a fistful of crystal meth, whisked away in a time machine by Ron Hardy then kicked out for spilling Sunny D and hooch cocktails all over his Urei mixer.

In their own words expect...........

"Music from Chicago, Detroit and beyond////Ghetto-funk, cosmic musica, low slung grooves///.r{}*Smack-house/ket-disco** Cosmic ghetto-funkin'. Analog madness for Chumps and Chumpettes. "

Maelstrom Mix

The Solardisco / DFA / Eskimo Celt, Maelstrom, has left us in possession of a cosmic house mix, drenched in the type of atmospheric chords that blend well with Valium and the keys and beats that lend themselves well to an Ecstasy hybrid. Or so i thought anyway. It's an ace selection that works great without the requirement for narcotics also, if that be your way ?!?!
